Nationals 2006

This event was held in Johannesburg at the Randpark Club from 26th to 31st March 2006. The touranment was played on the Windsor Park course of their club. Congratulations to Brian Burns and the rest of his co-ordinating team for hosting a successful tournament.

The rough on the course, after all the rains in Gauteng, was the downfall of most of the players, and looking at the results was definitely the problem for Southern Cape.
Unfortunately, we ended up second last, (an improvement over last year) but we had a few highlights. Congratulations to our JVC, Les Marais for the best Southern Cape player on 121 points. Very good golf, as the best results was 128.

The main highlight of the week for Southern Cape was the induction of Ken Haldane as the National Chairman. Great stuff! This is a first in Southern Cape history, and we hope it will not be the last.

Easterns won the tournament by a comfortable margin, and it was a very joyous moment for the outgoing National Chairman, Gary Bray.

OK guys, we have 12 months to rebuild our confidence and to build a team for East London in 2007. Start practicing your golf at Mossel Bay, Pezula, Oubaai and Pinnacle Point. Those wind conditions will be half that of East London.

Knysna March 2006

Monthly game played at the Knysna Golf Club on Sunday 19th March. The conditions were varied, from fine to miserable.
